Artists-Designers Rachel Engel and Patti Engel

Too Far Gone(aka Olde Picket Fence) are a mother-daughter team established in 1993. Patti had already been in business with her mother Aileen Schmitt co-owning the Peddlers Trunk in Vandalia IL for 18 years. Some of Patti's first designs included rag stuffed dolls-make-do settles and early look country furniture-always ahead of her time. At the age o

f 13 years she created a sculpted face santa all by herself waking her mother in the middle of the night to unveil her creation-this santa is still displayed in the family's home at Christmas time. Rachel and Patti have appeared in numerous magazines and books with their designs. Rachel and Patti have designed for such companies as Wing Tai Trading, Lang Co., Primitives by Kathy, Raghu Exim, Pine Creek Traditions, and Showtime Collection(pageant clothing line). Rachel just lanched a new company Rachel Engel Designs for pageant swimwear and interview suits. Rachel and Patti also promote an antique show in the spring and fall called Homesteaders on the Prairie in Arthur Illinois. The two travel several times a year through out the country selling thier original primitive designs for all to enjoy. They always look forward to meeting new people and seeing the sites. Please view our show schedule and plan a visit with them today.
