One of our favorite parts of the design process is seeing a material before it becomes part of a space.

While visiting the Antolini stone yard in Italy with Ciot Detroit, we were drawn to the movement and character of this Arabescato Orobico slab and immediately envisioned it shaping this high-end residential kitchen through a bold 10’ waterfall island with 4” mitered edges. Design always lives in the details and how each layer comes together with intention.

In the Novi Community School District Wellness Center, every architectural move is intentional—bringing in natural light, creating visual connections, and shaping moments that encourage pause, interaction, movement, and connection.

From layered materials to carefully framed sightlines, the space is designed to feel open and uplifting—supporting the full spectrum of wellness through the built environment.

This is just the beginning—stay tuned as we continue to share how these design decisions come to life in the final space.

Such an incredible experience touring Italy's stone, porcelain, and ceramic factories with Ciot Detroit. Grateful for the opportunity to deepen our understanding of the craftsmanship, innovation, and expertise behind the materials we specify every day.

Great design doesn’t end when the work is done—it continues through the impact it creates.

As we continue transforming this downtown Detroit residence, we helped coordinate the donation of our client’s existing furniture to Humble Design—an organization that transforms empty spaces into homes for individuals and families emerging out of homelessness.

Their mission goes far beyond furnishings. By creating warm, welcoming environments, they help restore dignity, inspire hope, and support long-term stability.

We’re grateful to play a small part in something that makes such a meaningful difference. 🤍
