Shadia Zayed, known professionally simply as Shadia, has been painting since grade school. She earned her Bachelors of Fine Art with Honors at Eastern Michigan University. Shadia began her decorative painting and mural company, Ambiance Design Studio in 2003, and has been an active art instructor to students of all ages since 2004. She currently focuses on her studio art, participates in live pain

Interior designers often talk about sightlines. They're the natural path your eye travels when you enter or move through a room.

Most people never think about this consciously, but they feel it. Art placed directly in a sightline changes a room immediately.

Placement is as intentional as the work itself.

A lot of people hold off on collecting art because they rent and feel uncertain about committing to walls they do not own. But art does not belong to a wall. It belongs to you.

Renting is not a reason to live with bare walls. It is a reason to collect work that matters enough to keep moving (and growing) with you.

This weekend marks the return of Art on the Grand, Farmington, the fine art fair will run 10-7 today and 11-5 tomorrow! Visit me today at the Skep Space booth located just steps from the Honeycomb Gallery where I’ll be demoing my collage technique from 11-2.
