I haven't truly been a stay at home mom since my oldest was a year old (granted my kids did get to come to work with me, but I still worked 8+ hour days, 5 days a week) and within the past few months, the opportunity to quit working has emerged. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to take Craftasaurus Rex Creations to the next level by starting an Etsy shop and selling my work consistently, however as I've started working toward that end, I've felt out of balance. What could I do? I'd already said I was doing it. I'd already started working on it. Hard. (That's what she said.) But these past few weeks, I've realized something: raising my family hasn't been the priority it should've been and that's why I've felt off-kilter. They get the grouchy, stressed out mama with scraps of yarn in her hair and clay under her nails who makes boxed mac and cheese for the 4th time this week because she has 85 more rows to finish by 6am. They get the dregs at the bottom of my cup and those sweet babies (and my awesome husband) deserve full, steaming, fresh mugs of Liz. So I've decided that they're the better thing I'm moving toward. They are my priority. And while this means I will not be launching an Etsy shop in July (I may someday, but today is not that day) I am still planning on selling my work and growing this business and generally sharing the creations I love making with all of you. Thank you all for your wonderful support! I'm so glad that the better thing I am moving toward is the best thing that I already have.
