When Freedom Designs works on a renovation or addition that requires us to accurately capture the existing floor plan, we have some great tools to help us get the job done!
This is an example of what the process looks like. As we walk through the house, it may look like we are simply taking pictures or videos—but we are actually using specialized technology to accurately capture the existing space, including the location of windows, doors, walls, and other important details.
There is still some cleanup and organization we need to do once we get back to the computer, but this technology saves us a significant amount of time. Instead of measuring everything, drawing it out on paper, writing down every dimension, and then entering all of that information into our system, we can capture much of it digitally from the start.
We still use a laser measuring tool to double-check dimensions and make sure we have everything correct. We also walk through the house and take reference photos so we can go back and verify details later if needed.
Most projects can be captured in one visit, although occasionally we may need to return to double-check something that doesn't look quite right. At Freedom Designs, we take pride in getting it right—and this technology helps take a lot of the guesswork out of the process.
With the newest features in our software, we can go a step further. We can begin drawing the addition you're considering and show you the space you're going to gain. From there, we can work through the details together, make adjustments in person, and get your drawings completed faster than ever before.
