Something about the messy, random imperfection of a marbleized pattern makes our heart beat a little faster. We are loving it everywhere from wallpapers to upholstery to the cover of our favorite notebook. Our chat with is up on this week about how we used it at .grove and how you can make it work in your home.

Summer is here and so is our latest playlist! We love this time of year when the pace of life in our college town slows down a bit. The streets are quieter and golden hour lasts a little longer. We made this mix for windows-down drives and the kind of summer nights that don’t need a plan. Listen at our link in bio 🪩

For us, good design isn’t about getting it “right” or recreating someone else’s idea of perfect. It’s all about energy. A room works best when you trust a feeling and commit to building around things you love, whether that’s a piece of art, fabric, a shape, or object you’re drawn to.

Our project living room is one of our favorite spaces we’ve designed. On the surface, it’s elegant, light and bright. But look a little closer, and it is anything but basic. Each piece carries its own unexpected or slightly oddball current that together makes the room click.

When designing this space, we first fell in love with the Gummy Chairs by Faye Toogood in a knubby deep teal boucle. They are like a playful galactic bear hug for the room. We paired those with a perfectly asymmetrical cranberry mohair sofa from and the long, sculptural line of the Palla sofa from that holds a tiny world in its arms (and done in a high performance fabric meant to withstand the life of the active young fam who lives here ofc). Add soft feminine lighting, funky figurative art, and collected objects into the arrangement, and this room holds a quiet electricity that we can’t get over. ⚡️⚡️⚡️

We’d love to know which element of the room draws you in in the comments. 💗

How you enter sets the tone for everything that follows. This foyer is a quiet pause before the story begins. We’re in love with the soft but certain entrance the custom railing makes. We paired it with one of our favorite sconces to give that gentle kiss on the cheek as you arrive. 🤍💋

We love a good field trip out of office to train our eye and soak up inspo from new places, spaces, and people. But we think being in the office can be just as dreamy. đź’

Let’s be real — I don’t cook. I snack plate like a boss. But if I did cook, this kitchen would be a dream.

For our clients, cooking is their FR happy place. They needed a workhorse of a prep space to function for their active young family that didn’t compromise on beauty. This is the space they make and sit down for their family ritual of daily breakfasts together before they start their day out in the world.

Complete with a prep sink and custom cabinetry with a home for every appliance, pot, and cutting board, the real chef’s kiss is the honed marble that is like the first bite of the perfect tiramisu. Delectable. 🤍

The primary bathroom from our project was a slow burn. When we look at these photos, we see so. many. decisions. Choices we made over many months through relationships and conversations with some of our favorite humans—the talented trades that helped wrestle down a spark into something to touch, feel, and cocoon into. This process lights us up in the best way. 💫

We first channel the feeling of the space, a big picture vision. As a team, we translate that feeling into its material components. But this bathroom was a reminder of how much chiseling away at the big rough idea is required to get to the point of turning on that epic steam shower of your dreams. Of course, we narrow in on just the right marble, stain and plaster color, and metal finish. But the rubber really hits the road when you have to figure out how the heck do we get this marble through the door and into the actual room, or can we do that at all?! How do we support the weight of the material once it’s there? How does every tiny seam of stone come together, and how do we get the perfect slope so everything drains perfectly?

The construction team we worked with on this project were curious, calm, and dedicated problem solvers to help fine tune every detail so it could all sing together just right and function for our clients. It’s a constant pivot and dance until it’s all done.
