The Price of the Spark
Ideals can be beautifully penned in ink. But Freedom is hammered out in iron.
We rightly honor the brave men who gathered in Philadelphia - as well as hundreds of others in halls, taverns, and church houses across the 13 colonies to speak for Independence. They dared to articulate the rights of man and defy a tyrant king, knowing they would be branded as traitors for the truth.
But words alone did not buy our liberty.
Independence was won on the battlefield—heard in the thunder of cannons, seen in the thick smoke choking the tree lines, and smelled in the raw mix of gunsmoke, sweat, and soil. It smelled of sacrifice.
While the Declaration gave voice to our liberty, centuries of men and women standing shoulder-to-shoulder have preserved it.
They stepped into the smoke to ensure that freedom remained a living reality, not just words on a page.
Freedom’s Forge focuses less on the ideal and more on the actual. It is a visceral reminder that principles require a price.
Capturing the heavy, quiet atmosphere of the aftermath, this 250th commemorative blend contrasts the cold metal of warfare with the peaceful earth it defended.
