One of the things I love most about working with wood is that it never gets repetitive.

You can buy two boards from the same species, cut from the same tree, and they'll still be completely different. Different grain. Different color. Different personality.

Some pieces have wild grain that grabs your attention right away. Others are quiet until you start working them, and then suddenly a pattern or color shows up you never saw coming. You can't manufacture that. Nature already did the hard work.

People ask me all the time how I decide what a piece is going to become. Truth is, sometimes the wood tells me. My job is to pay attention, work with it, and let its character shine through.

We live in a world where everything seems to be stamped out exactly the same. Wood reminds us that the best things usually aren't. That's what makes each piece worth building.

At the end of the day, I'm just lucky enough to help bring out what was already there.
