I've (finally) got our October Yap N Craft pumpkin decorating event scheduled! We'll be at Good Shepherd Lutheran church on 10/22. I'll provide all the supplies to paint/decoupage, you just need to bring your own pumpkin(s)- if you're not feeling pumpkins please BYOC and hang out with us!

On November 12, we will have our fall potluck. Come have a super casual get together with good food before the holiday slog hits!

Thanks to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church for opening up your awesome facility for our hangouts!

My big project for the wild month of September was this pair of 3 story tall quilt murals at Walnut Crossing in Rogers, AR. This one was a dream from beginning to end, this apartment complex is brand new affordable housing created by Excellerate Foundation , and built by the fabulous Lloyd Construction. It means so much to me to have my art on housing built for regular folks, and I admire Excellerate for including public art in the project budget. Thank you to the incredible women who helped paint, Kassy, Calliope, and Eleanor- I literally could not have done this without you! I'm so proud to have another piece in Rogers ! Thank you Kerri McMahon for such beautiful photos here, and for the enormous support through alllll of the other big things we did in September. And finally, thank you to Ali Johnson for all the work you've done to advocate for more affordable housing in NWA, and for championing my work all these years.

I went to my favorite event of the year today, the Shiloh Museum Quilt Fair and had an awesome surprise! Chloe of was exhibiting two of her beautiful quilts, and the one pictured was inspired by the B Street quilt mural I painted in downtown Bentonville in 2019! If you know me, you know that I have a gigantic crush on fiber arts, especially quilting. So seeing this piece in person and getting to meet Chloe was the most fantastic treat. Isn't her work beautiful?

Our first Yap n' Craft meeting is tonight at 6:00 at Ozark Natural Foods! Feel free to bring the project you're currently working on, or (if you can) bring a cookie sheet and spray bottle with water for our Joomchi activity. I'll provide the rest. You'll be able to buy dinner, snacks, dessert, coffee, b**r and other bevs right there at ONF. This is a FREE event with supplies provided thanks to Experience Fayetteville ! See you there!

Who is welcome at Yap n' Craft?

Yap N Craft is for *everyone*, and I want to be very clear- this is a space where our LGBTQ friends, and immigrant friends are both welcome AND wanted.

Do you have to be an artist? Heck no, if you've got a creative bone in your body you are welcome here!

What about kids? This is not a club geared towards children, but it is a space for creatives of all ages. If you would like to bring your child please know that this is an adult space and there may be adult convo and they may hear some cussing.

See you at ONF at 6:00 on September 1st!

Thank you to Citiscapes Magazine for the beautiful feature in the May issue. I had such a wildly busy spring and summer that I didn't get my hands on a copy of the magazine until now.

I am so grateful that this is my actual job, and that people are interested in what I make and do. When I painted my first rinky dink little sign in 2011, I could not have dreamed of where I would be 15 years later.

HOT NEWS 🔥Yap n' Craft will be meeting for the first time ever on September 1st from 6-8pm, at Ozark Natural Foods! Yap n' Craft is a creative social club borne out of the many conversations I've had with other women about needing a community where we can feel inspired, supported, and have some fun. It can be lonely out there for an artist, so come hang out! We'll provide the art project, you bring yourself and a friend (you can also bring the art project you're currently working on, too). Conveniently, we can grab dinner/a snack/coffee/b**r/or dessert at ONF. ✨Sound off in the comments if you can make it! I'll need to know so I can order our supplies ✨

It's been quite a while since I've had a free Saturday morning, so I spent the morning in downtown Fayetteville and spied a few of my hand painted pieces within walking distance of each other!

I've had such a lovely time teaching a Contemporary Quilt Painting class at Crystal Bridges this month, this group of artists knocked it out of the park! Stay tuned for my next class with Crystal Bridges, it's going to be a dandy.

What have I been up to these last few months? I worked as the production designer for the that took place last month in North Little Rock! I hand painted signs, designed and facilitated a community painting project that became the entrance installation for the festival, created a gigantic picnic area with afghans that were thrifted, donated, and borrowed from folks all over the state. I had a team of brilliant interns who worked their butts off to paint and build stages and help set up the event. I didn't document things very well, but here are a few photos of what we worked on! I love that my job is made up of so many different things.
