On June 6, 1944, during the Normandy Landings, more than 150,000 Allied troops crossed the English Channel and landed on the beaches of Normandy, France. Thousands were killed, wounded, or missing on the first day alone. Their sacrifice helped establish a foothold in Western Europe and accelerated the defeat of N**i Germany in World War II.

Due to the thunder’s rage and the heavens splitting wide, tonight’s gathering has been called off for the safety of shelter.

The storm drums hard upon the earth, lightning walks the sky, and even the wind seems eager to tear songs from the trees. Better to wait for calmer stars than challenge the wrath rolling overhead.

Stay safe, stay dry, and we’ll gather again when the skies remember mercy.
