Waterfront views are unmatched, but so is intense sunset glare and heat!

This last summer we had to pleasure of helping a customer with an exterior shade installation at a condo on the Des Moines waterfront. As the sun sets right over the water, blinding glare and trapped heat make it uncomfortable inside, especially during hot summer afternoons.

Watch how lowering this motorized exterior shade instantly tames the harsh sunlight while keeping those stunning Puget Sound views fully intact!

Benefits of motorized exterior shades:
✅ Blocks heat before it even reaches your glass
✅ Cuts down intense sun glare instantly
✅ Maintains visibility to the outdoors
✅ Operates effortlessly at the push of a button

How do you get glare control AND max heat insulation for sliding glass doors? You layer!

Paul from Budget Blinds of Federal Way, Kent, & Des Moines took a trip to Wesley Homes in Des Moines to showcase this smart dual-window solution:
1️⃣ Solar Roller Shades: Ideal for reducing direct sun glare while preserving outdoor views.
2️⃣ Vertical Cellular Shade: Added right behind the roller shades to deliver exceptional heat insulation and full privacy.

Combining these two styles allows complete control over light, heat, and privacy all year round.

We recently helped a homeowner out in Auburn transform their living space with these gorgeous Norman Honeycomb Blackout Shades.

Her windows were getting a ton of direct sunlight and heat, making it tough to watch TV or keep the room cool. These motorized blackout shades solve that instantly, keeping the light and heat out with the push of a button.

Why these motorized shades are a game changer:

- Easy Charging Wand: Powered by rechargeable lithium-ion batteries that only need a charge 1–2 times a year!

- No Dangling Cords or Ladders: Simply plug the magic charging wand directly into the headrail. No messy cords and no dangerous climbing required (even for high, hard-to-reach windows)!
