This console top and lower shelf are dressed in a hand-selected burl veneer, bookmatched and mirrored so the grain shows like one continuous landscape rather than a repeated pattern. Every miter, every seam, every curve of the leg is fabricated in-house — nothing pulled off a shelf, nothing shortcutted.

Chinoiserie — not the pattern, not the lacquer, not the literal. Just the bones.

The Chow desk, stretched long and lean in ebonized wood, keeps the vocabulary deliberately spare: four tapered legs, a pair of open lower shelves standing in for ornament, and a brass corner detail that catches the light rather than asking for it. Centuries of Eastern influence, distilled down to a single quiet silhouette.

No two Chatham tables will ever look exactly alike — and that's the point.

This one is built in Santos Rosewood, chosen as much for its graphic, almost sculptural grain as for its deep, warm color. Curved saber legs in the same rosewood, finished with brass caps, carry the piece with a lightness that belies its scale.

The drawer on the Biscayne hides in the skirt just below the top edge — a flat band that reads as structure until it pulls open, deep enough for a remote, a charger cord, whatever needs to be near a bed but not seen from it.

Vertical spindles run the height of all four sides, echoed again in the lower shelf, open and light.

The pattern on the Anne at first glance says tortoiseshell, but it's fumed eucalyptus — the color comes from a fuming process that reacts with the wood's natural tannins, not a stain sitting on the surface.

Bending veneer around a curve this tight, from tabletop into leg, with no visible seam at the radius, is the harder half of building this piece. The color just happens to be the part people notice first.

Custom cut walnut panels converge into a single starburst at the center of the Auburn's top, every seam meeting dead-on so the pattern reads as one continuous piece of wood.

Open the drawers and the same precision carries through — interiors cut from a lighter walnut, hidden drawer slides for a clean aesthetic. Clipped corners and tapered legs keep the whole desk reading as geometry first, furniture second.

Meet Josiah
We’re pleased to introduce the newest craftsman to join the Keith Fritz workshop, Josiah.

Josiah comes to us after completing his studies at the Center for Furniture Craftsmanship in Maine, bringing with him an exceptional understanding of traditional furniture making, fine joinery, and an enthusiasm for the craft that was apparent from the beginning.

For his first completed piece in our workshop, Josiah built this Santos Rosewood dining table. From the intricate radial veneer pattern of the top to the sculptural base below, the piece demanded the kind of precision and attention to detail that defines our work.

We’re proud to have Josiah as part of our team and even more excited to see what comes from his bench next.
