Join us for Knit In Public Day on Saturday, June 13, 2026

We'll be at the Saturday morning market in downtown Fishers hanging out in the grassy area in the middle from 9-10am.

Bring a chair or blanket, your project to work on and feel free to grab some food from the market to eat while we craft.

Today for Tool Tuesday we are highlighting some tools that celebrate Pride month and all of our LGBTQ community members!

We made sure to stock lots of fun items so you can show your support while out crafting in public…maybe this Saturday for International Knit in Public day!! You’ll find Maddie and some market bag makers crafting together at the Fishers farmers market Saturday morning if you want to participate.

From knitting needle stoppers to stickers to crochet hooks you’re sure to find something that’s useful, fun, and makes you smile. 😊

Lots of summer crafting happening this week. We have two classes and three different opportunities to make together! For classes, register on our website, link in bio.

Class: Perfect Fit Sweater Workshop (June 10th 6:00-7:30) with Paige Shipley . This one will be held with a discount for you on your treats during class. Then next week we will start our Summer Top Make Along. This is a perfect way to kick off your summer making!

Class: Coast into Crochet - June 11th (6-8pm) with Kelly There is one spot left. Snag it today! The perfect intro to crochet class, to get you ready for the next class with Kelly at the end of the month where we will start Amigurumi,

Open Crafting: Wednesday Noon-2:00 and Friday from 6-8pm. Michelle will be back with wedding tales!

Market Bag Making: Saturday morning 9am with Maddie at the market in Fishers. This is also Knit in Public day....whether you knit, crochet, or are doing another fiber art, its a great way to start the day.

This is Sarah back with my weekly Saturday Stash suggestion! Today we are diving into Ash & Bumble, a local-to-us hand-dyer.

Ashley is a knitter, crocheter, spinner, and designer who started dyeing in her home studio seven years ago. Since then, she's become known for her gorgeous themed collections, including favorites inspired by books, seasons, and stories. Her Anne of Green Gables collection immediately caught my eye!

One thing I love about Ash & Bumble's 80/20 sock yarn is how versatile it is. The blend of soft merino wool and durable nylon creates a yarn that's comfortable enough for garments and accessories while still standing up to regular wear. It has great stitch definition, takes dye beautifully, and comes in both tonal and variegated colorways.

Since summer is almost here, it's time to break out the hooks and make the Captiva Crop by Laura Murphy! This lightweight top is approachable for newer crocheters, easy to customize for your preferred length, and a fantastic way to show off hand-dyed yarn. Whether you choose a tonal colorway or something more colorful, the simple stitch pattern lets the yarn do the talking.

Market Tote Make-a-Long Reminder & Updated Rain Location!

We're excited to kick off our Market Tote Make-a-Long this Saturday, June 6!

☀️ If the weather cooperates, we'll be gathering on the grassy hill area in the middle of the public morning market in Fishers from 9–10am.

🌧️ If rain decides to join us, we'll keep things public and social by meeting at Niyyah Coffee at 9am instead.

Not sure where to find us? Send us a message and we'll point you in the right direction!

Still need supplies? We have plenty of Cascade Noble Cotton on the shelves in a variety of colors, making it a great choice for market bags. Feel free to stop by the shop before Saturday to pick out your yarn. We will not have any supplies with us for purchase at the meeting.

Bring a chair or blanket, grab a coffee or breakfast from the local vendors, and join us for a relaxing morning of stitching and community. We can't wait to see what everyone creates!

June is packed at Flax & Fiber!

We've got a little bit of everything this month: informal make-a-longs, technique classes, community events, and a few surprises we're still putting the finishing touches on. Whether you're looking to learn a new skill, meet other makers, or simply spend some time crafting, there's something for you.

A few co-owner/shop updates before we get to the calendar:

Co-owner Michelle is celebrating a major family milestone this week as her daughter gets married! We're sure there will be plenty of photos to share soon. We can also confirm that at least one project made the trip to NYC... and there may have been a second cast-on somewhere along the way.🤫

You'll find co-owner Linda & Color Me Happy Fiber Arts at Hoosier Hills Fiber Festival in Franklin, IN this weekend. Need recommendations while you're there? Maddie is always happy to talk about Franklin and probably has opinions about where you should eat, shop, and wander.

🎂 And please join us in wishing co-owner Sarah a very happy birthday (month)! If you see her in the shop, feel free to send some birthday wishes her way—even if it's after the official date - she'll be delighted.

Calendar Highlights:
* Market Tote MAL - informal, no cost, no registration. We have supplies available at the store if needed, but none on site. Detailed post coming tomorrow.
* Sweater technique class for finding the perfect fit. Registration on our website. Location is at Le Macaron on 116th.
