FO Friday for Color Me Happy!

Linda got her booth project finished during our last two festivals this year and surprised, surprise it’s another version of one of her favorites, It’s a Spring Fling by Darn Knit Anyway.

This is such a lovely way to use a mini skein set, in contrasting colors or, like this version and our earlier pink one, a gentle fade.

The knitting is quick and adaptable to interrupted concentration and slightly different yarn amounts, and the resulting small shawl is a perfect accessory for times when there is a bit of a chill in the air.

We’re bringing several new *all local* naturally dyed kits to the Susan Speichert this weekend!

First up: the Thistle Thorn Cowl Kit, made with sport weight Cormo/Alpaca from our Back Home Again line. This one comes in two different color options too!

We just love this 50/50 blend of local Cormo from Ruth and the Westfield Woolies and Suri alpaca from Neth Heritage Farm Alpacas, Farm Stays & Events - Kokomo, IN 🩷

We use this same blend in our Herzblatt beanie kit—this lovely colorwork pattern of flowers that look like hearts makes a stunning fall accessory! 💕

We’ve got Frida headband kits in a rainbow of colors—just a bit of Suri silk and one mini skein held together make a super soft headband

And a new holiday mini kit—Spooky Season! 👻

Can’t wait to see what you all make with these!

Thanks to Jill and her team at Young's Jersey Dairy for making this another wonderful event. We enjoyed seeing old friends and making many new ones!
Will be back next year, bringing a lots of naturally dyed fiber and some fiber friends with us.

Booth tour for the Wool Gathering 2026!

We’ve got everything in place, including a few MacGyver’d lights, and are ready to welcome you to the festival!

We’re here 10-6 Saturday and 10-4 Sunday, under beautiful tents so even if the R-word happens we’ll still be all set!

We are so happy to introduce our all-local fall hat kit for 2026–the Herzblatt Beanie by DUCATHI! 🩷

Each year we curate a hat kit using our most special Back Home Again yarn—the Cormo/Alpaca blend we source directly from the farm. Specifically, Ruth—shepherdess of beautiful Cormo sheep as part of the Westfield Woolies, and Beth—wrangler of the prize-winning Suri alpaca Heritage Farm Alpacas, Farm Stays & Events - Kokomo, IN in Flora. This wool is spun just across the border in Ohio and then we lovingly dye it with all natural materials at our studio in Fishers.

It is truly a privilege to be part of this cycle from animal to yarn, from friend to friend, as we bring you this very special yarn. And a special thanks to our talented friend Kate.

Herzblatt is the name of a wildflower with heart-shaped leaves and also a term of endearment. We hope you love it as much as we do! 💕
