A subsidiary of The Crafty Bean, and located across from The Crafty Bean, Craft World is a crafting store with specialization in scrapbooking, card making, wreath making, mixed media, painting, etc. I have always dreamed of owning my own business and decided to create a business that has my most favorite things: espresso and scrapbooking. Being from the Pacific Northwest, I was privileged to have
many different choices of coffee houses to visit and patronize. My favorite was the Batdorf & Bronson Coffeehouse, located in downtown Olympia. Their “Dancing Goats” blend is rich and tasty. I was thrilled when I found out I could bring this espresso blend to The Crafty Bean. My son, Joshua, trained with me on how to be a barista and create wonderful espressos to serve to the public. We trained at the Batdorf & Bronson tasting room in Olympia. My espresso beans are roasted and shipped from the Batdorf & Bronson Roastery in Atlanta, GA. My other passion is scrapbooking. I started scrapbooking before it was a “thing” and a household name. As with most scrapbookers, I started my “official” collection with Creative Memories products. In 2006, I had a scrapbooking business called “Scrappin’ Peeps” located in Tumwater, WA. Unfortunately, with the downturn of the economy in 2007, I had to close my doors. However, I stayed connected to the industry and trends with the hopes of opening again. I am proud to bring into my store (and community) beautiful papers and embellishments that are only available at independent paper crafting stores. Those lines include: Keller’s Creations, Prima Marketing, Heartfelt Creations, Blue Fern Studios, Bo Bunny, Bazzil, Eyelet Outlet and Stamperia. I will also be carrying the best adhesives and tools available. I plan on sharing my passion with my community by offering classes and teaching folks various techniques. I will also host crops so that folks can come into my store and have a dedicated space to create. Coffee will be served! Finally, as a professional scrapbooker and crafter, I will have various hand-made (by me) scrapbooks and cards, as well as wreaths, available for purchase in my store.
