Dear friends, family and supporters...the time we feared since our devastating roof leak has finally come. We are sad to announce that The Purple Pelican will be closing permanently at the end of June. We've done all we could to help support our vendors through this time, and we can't thank our community and friends enough for donating to our gofundme. However, the costs of continuing to stay open outweigh the resources we have available.
For the remainder of June our store will be on sale, including displays and cases. Please visit and say Hi, peruse the aisles for some great vintage items and know that if we could stay open, we would.

Our dear neighbors and friends are throwing us a party! Visit Austentatious on Saturday June 8th 4-8pm. 20% of sales from this event will be donated to our rebuilding and reopening fund! We are so grateful to be a part of such an amazing community. This will surely be a great time with wine and giveaways. As our building continues to be worked on, our vendors have gathered together a few items for an extra special sidewalk sale the weekend of May 17th.

We miss being open to the public, so here is a great chance to support The Purple Pelican and Rhody weekend is a great time to visit and celebrate all local businesses here in Florence.

Just an update for all of our friends and supporters...We have updated our fundraising goal and wanted you all to know there is an end in sight!

We should be ready to open in about 5 weeks. Our roof is officially fixed, and the ceiling is next. Our fundraising goal is to help with the reopening cost and to get our vendors and team back in action.

Here is a QR code link to the go fund me Bonnie Rollin created to help raise money for our vendors here at the Purple Pelican. Please scroll through to view some of the damage that occurred on March 23rd.

The repairs are underway, and we can't state enough how much we miss our customers and community.

As you can see in the photos, the deluge of water that came through the roof was devastating to our building, and although it was swiftly cleaned up by Service Masters, (whom we are very grateful to) the continuing repairs are extensive and ongoing.

The monetary support that we are raising is to supplement the lost income to our vendors during this time, it will also support any legal fees and accrued repair costs. At this time, there is no re-opening date.

We are thankful for the support from our friends at Cindy Wobbe Estates, and Jeremy Austen at Austentatious, two wonderful local small businesses who are neighbors to us on the same block of shops on HWY 101.

Hello Friends and Family! We wanted to let you know that there is an end in sight for our construction project. We suffered a major roof leak during one of our March storms, and thankfully that part of the project has been resolved.

Our vendors are eager to re-open and share their wonderful treasures with you. We are hoping to be open again by the end of May, so we will keep you updated. Thank you for your patience and support as we navigate this process, we are looking forward to a great summer season.

Due to some technical difficulties, we have to close our shop for a few days. We are hoping to be up and running by the middle of the week. Until then, thank you for your support and understanding and we look forward to seeing you all soon.
