Happy Mother’s Day 🤍
This photograph of my mother captures so much of who she was — adventurous, strong, creative, and always ready for whatever life brought her way. Even through health struggles, she would rally for her children every single time. She taught me so much about beauty in everyday living: how to set a lovely table, polish silver until it gleamed, iron with care, create with your hands, and make a home feel warm and welcoming. She painted, drew, worked in ceramics, and lived with a creative spirit that shaped my own life in countless ways. She was also a wonderful cook — though somehow that gift skipped me along the way.
I am deeply thankful for her, and for all the women who helped shape me — the mothers, aunts, cousins, and dear friends whose love, wisdom, and examples helped make me the woman I am today.
On this Mother’s Day, I’m celebrating all mothers: the moms beside us, the moms-to-be, the women longing to be mothers, the mothers who have gone before us, and the generations still to come.
This year feels especially sweet as several of my daughters are now mothers themselves, and I became grandmother to seven beautiful grandchildren. My six children bring me endless joy, and I thank God for each one of them.
Happy Mother’s Day to all the women who love, nurture, guide, and give of themselves so generously. 🤍
