In 2025 Drew started encouraging me to getaway to design, and to be honest, I fought him on it. It sounded too bougie, or needy to me. Why would I need to “getaway” to design?

Drawing is FUN.
Doodling is CREATIVE.
Designing is an OUTLET.

In theory… that is what I GET TO DO.

I GET TO DRAW BOLD - BRIGHT - FUN things that make people happy!

Pinch me.

Then he helped me ADMIT the “weight” that comes with what I like to downplay.

How in the heck could that be a WEIGHT?!

With growth comes pressure. With pressure comes stretching.

Every season (in midst of a meltdown) I admit to my Drew… I can’t handle the weight.

But then feel RIDICULOUS saying there is a weight to drawing.

But… here I am admitting it.

Here I am, leaving on a design getaway.

I get to do this.

The weight comes from my deepest intentions and prayers… that what I design for 2027:

-provides more jobs than ever.
-gives retailers sales boosts they NEED.
-becomes avenues for our amazing sales agencies and sales reps to not just meet goals, but to crush them.
-that the designs bring a sense of joy to homes across the US.

And truthfully… that maybe just one person will ask the Lord the same question Drew and I asked in 2020, and still ask today.

“Show us Lord ways to be good stewards of the talents you’ve put in us - for YOUR Glory.”

Today… the weight is real.
Today… the excitement is engaged.
Today… the option are endless.

Wonder where the next few weeks will grow us?

Let me be REALLY CLEAR… the designs are only a small portion of who DK is… it’s the part I get to play amongst an amazing team.

I’m thankful to be on the team.

I’m thankful for the “weight”.

I’m thankful my hubby has convinced me to do these trips over the last year.

I’m not sure if it’s starting or finishing… but 2027 will launch strong! 🥳
