What if we treated smell more like a technology?

We tent to treat scent as atmosphere. Something that sits on top of a product or space. But if smell can change how something is felt and remembered, it becomes a system you can design.

That means asking different questions:

What does this scent do when experiencing a product or a space?
What does it do to a memory a day later?
Does it calm, activate, or anchor the experience?
Does it make the brand easier to recall?

This is the kind of thinking I keep coming back to when working with fragrance in my candles. It is what we explore at Luce Sacra with our focus group of family and friends who are helping build our home fragrance brand and thinking how scent actually connects with people.

how do you know when to trim your ?

you’ll know it’s time to trim your candle wick when it starts looking too long, curled, or mushroomed at the top

a properly trimmed wick helps your candle burn cleaner, safer, and more evenly

Signs your wick needs trimming:

* The flame looks too large or flickers excessively
* Black smoke or soot appears
* The wick has a mushroom shape at the tip
* The candle is burning too fast
* The jar starts getting very hot
* You notice uneven burning
