US coins without a date on the front or back typically fall into two categories: intentional edge-lettered dollar coins or classic coins with worn-off dates.

1. Intentional No-Date Coins (On the Face)

Native American & Sacagawea Dollar Coins (2009–Present): Beginning in 2009 under the Native American $1 Coin Act, the U.S. Mint moved the year, mint mark, and motto ("E Pluribus Unum") from the obverse or reverse face to the edge of the coin.

Presidential Dollar Coins: These also place the year of minting and mint mark on the edge rather than the front.

Note: If you don't see a date on the front of a Sacagawea dollar dated 2009 or later, check the outer rim.
