🏀 Workshop Wednesday 🏀

The basketball collection is officially underway!

This week I’ve been pulling together faux leather, fabric, thread colors and supplies and turning those materials into the first finished pieces in the collection.

The first personalized basketball bag tags are complete, and I’m already working on more basketball pieces and color combinations to add to the collection.

I love this stage of a new collection — choosing materials, watching everything come together at the embroidery machine, and finally seeing the finished pieces take shape.

More basketball is coming! 💗💚

Studio Sunday 📸

Not every studio day is spent at the embroidery machine.

Lately, a lot of my time has been going into updating older Etsy listings and refreshing product photography. That means pulling pieces back out, setting up the lightbox, reshooting when needed, and making sure the photos show each handmade item as clearly and accurately as possible.

I’ve also been putting the new dress form to work for apron photos — something that has made a big difference in showing how those pieces actually look.

It may be behind-the-scenes work, but good photos are such an important part of running a handmade shop. And looking back at some of my earliest listing photos, I can definitely see how much I’ve learned along the way. 💗💚

Workshop Wednesday 🎳

This week at the worktable, I’ve been working on something a little different — bowling towels!

I love watching an embroidery design come together one color at a time, especially when the finished result is this bright and fun. The design was stitched onto two gray towel styles — microfiber and waffle-weave — giving bowlers two different options.

These are the first in the new Celebrate and Sustain bowling collection! 🎳

Studio Sunday 💗💚

The studio is finally starting to feel like my workspace.

What began as an empty room is now taking shape with a dedicated desk area, a large cutting table, and lots of organized storage for fabric, thread, stabilizers, embroidery supplies, and everything else that goes into making Celebrate and Sustain products.

There are still a few things to finish and organize, but I’m already loving how much easier it is to have room to spread out and give everything a proper place.

After all the work that went into getting this space ready, it’s pretty exciting to finally be able to use it. And yes… I’m sure I’ll keep rearranging things as I figure out what works best. 😊

Workshop Wednesday ✂️
A little different kind of workshop update this week — the new Celebrate and Sustain studio is finally starting to look like a real workspace.

It’s hard to believe this room started completely empty. Now the furniture is moving in, supplies are finding their places, and I’m slowly figuring out the best way to organize everything so the space actually works for sewing, embroidery, cutting, photography, and packing orders.

There are still plenty of boxes to unpack and a lot of organizing left to do, but seeing the room come together makes all the work that went into getting here feel worth it.

I’ll share more as everything finds its permanent home. 💗💚

This week in the studio was all about Christmas projects coming together one step at a time. 🎄

I worked on a new batch of mitten treat bags, from personalization and trimming to opening the peek-a-boo windows and getting them ready to fill with little surprises.

I also finished a gingerbread ornament/treat holder that can hold wrapped candy or money and hang right on the tree. I love when a project can be both festive and useful.

There’s something especially fun about watching a pile of felt and thread turn into finished Christmas pieces.

🧵 Workshop Wednesday 🎄

This week, the work behind Celebrate and Sustain has looked a little different.

Instead of focusing on stitching new designs, I’ve been spending time photographing finished Christmas kitchen towels and aprons, choosing the strongest images, and getting listings ready for the shop.

There’s quite a bit that happens between finishing the last stitch and publishing a listing — product photography, close-up details, coordinating pieces, editing, organizing photos, and putting everything together so shoppers can clearly see what they’re getting.

The Christmas kitchen collection is starting to come together, and I’m excited to see these finished pieces making their way from the sewing room into the shop. ❤️🎄

🎄 Studio Sunday 🧵

Sometimes the finished project makes the process look much simpler than it actually is.

This Santa suit gift bag starts with individual pieces of fabric, stabilizer and embroidery steps that are built up one at a time. The bag shape is stitched first, followed by the belt details, buckle and personalization before everything is finally finished and ready to tie.

I always enjoy photographing these stages because you can really see the project begin to take shape — especially when you compare those first few stitches with the finished bag.

And now the Santa suit bag has a snowy companion, too. ❤️☃️ The last photo shows the finished Santa suit and snowman gift bags together as I continue building out the Christmas collection.

🧵 Workshop Wednesday 🧵

This week’s workshop progress looks a little different.

I’ve been working on a new treat bag and got far enough to photograph some of the prep and stitching process, but the embroidery machine is currently paused while I wait for a replacement screw.

It’s a good reminder that handmade work doesn’t always move in a perfectly straight line. Some days are about stitching and finishing, and other days are about troubleshooting, waiting on a part, and picking back up where you left off.

I did manage to finish this white treat bag before the pause, so there is still a little progress to share while I wait to get the machine running again.

🧵 Studio Sunday 🎄

This week I thought I’d share a little more of what goes into making one of my mug rugs from start to finish.

It begins with choosing and cutting the fabrics, preparing the stabilizer and hoop, and stitching the first placement lines. From there, each section is added one piece at a time — quilting, fabric placement, trimming the appliqué, embroidery, and finally the finishing stitches that bring everything together.

For this Christmas mug rug, I paired bright red fabric with a cheerful gingerbread print and stitched the design in coordinating holiday colors.

One of my favorite things about in-the-hoop projects is watching a pile of fabric pieces slowly turn into something completely finished. ❤️🎄
