Formerly known as Southwest Florida Gold and Silver, Coins and Currency (SWFLGSCC), Americana Coins & Currency was founded through auction sales in 2000 and proudly operates out of Southwest Florida. With over 40 years of personal collecting experience, my passion has always been rooted in educating others about personal wealth, history, and the joy of collecting.

As a retired U.S. Navy veteran, I’ve naturally developed extensive knowledge in both U.S. and foreign coins and currency, which has grown into a broader appreciation for Americana items. Today, we specialize in buying and selling gold and silver bullion, coins, currency, stamps, jewelry, and unique Americana collectibles. During the Civil War, coins began disappearing from circulation as people hoarded gold, silver, and even copper cents. The government needed a way to make change, so they did something unusual...
