After “retirement”, (Linda, 40 years in retail, and me, 30 years in the classroom), together we took a giant leap of faith, and opened our small shop, Sisters, Too, in Historic White City, in 2012.
Having our own business was at the top of our bucket list, and little did we know at the time, that our doors would remain open for seven years, and that our passion for what we were doing would grow stronger with each passing day.
Meeting and making new friends, while keeping in close contact with “old” friends, kept us motivated, along with the other fun things like our junkin’ forays, the thrill of the hunt, and bringing our finds into the store for your shopping experiences.
However, along came the Midway Road construction that would challenge us, but also in disguise, be a catalyst, in making us realize, as we’ve been taught, that even good and beautiful things can have happy endings, too. Through serious evaluation and a long thought process, Linda and I decided it was time to close our doors, and so we are going with happy hearts, no regrets, and now an opportunity to do a few other things, while time and health permits.
A special thanks to Sharon McClure, Sue Perez, and Jay Summers, for your time, dedication, and hard work. To all of our other supporters and friends, we also say thanks. All of You have aided and abetted two St. Lucians in fulfilling a dream we never thought possible, while putting a smile on our faces every day.
We won’t say goodbye, who knows what’s around the bend, but we do leave with hearts full of love, gratitude, and countless happy moments that will forever be a part of our memories.
Fondly,
The Sisters,
Linda Bradford
