Found a coaster set off of Amazon you really like?
Is it for a gift? How about a special occasion?
Are you wanting to add a little something to make the coasters a little better?

I may be able to help!

These were bought for a wedding couple off of their Amazon gift registry. The customer wanted to add a little bit more personalization to them.
Already stained coasters are tricky.. but they still turned out great!

A wood I have always wanted to work with has been “rosewood”. Ironically.. it does have a floral smell. I had a board gifted to me and had no clue what to make. So why not gift a portion back.

Stopping back to Divine Providence Baptist Church to finish up a few things.

They asked if a box could be put underneath their pulpit table. I said let’s give it a try!

They asked if another cross could be hung on the front of the pulpit. The cross was original to the church before they had bought the building. What a great way to give a little “nod” to the churches history.

This little coffee shop in Churubusco… so many good things that I can say.. but a whole lot more people already said it with their votes! Congrats to you two and your team!

We’re incredibly grateful to have been voted Best Coffee Shop in the Fort Wayne Readers’ Choice Awards.

Thank you to everyone who voted for us, our amazing community, and our team who works hard every day to make Busco Beans what it is.

We put a lot of effort into serving quality coffee, and we’re really thankful for Hemisphere Coffee Roasters and the part they play in helping us do that every day.

Seriously, thank you. ❤️

A little behind the scenes 👀
A common question I get is “what stain do you use for your colors?”
My answer is.. “I don’t!”
(Except for brown and black)
You can buy colored water-based stains from any hardware store. For me, all my colors start from paint samples you can buy at stores. Even the little apple barrel/folk-art craft paints.
For a single project its one part water to one part paint, plastic shot cup, stir, and apply with a foam brush.
For larger quantities I mix one can and maybe a half of can of water. Don’t make it to watery.
Make sure to select a few shades darker as water will lighten the color a little.
Happy crafting and to learning new things!

Definitely a new skill added! A fellow woodworker needed his custom made bowls laser engraved as wedding favors for the bridesmaids. The skill comes from lasering them like you would tumblers.. which prompted me buying a gantry for tumbler engraving. More details on that coming soon. Thanks for having me engrave these for you!
