Sometimes, the best design solutions come from rethinking a space that isn’t working for you. ✨

Our clients had an open area in their dining room that had become a small desk space, but it wasn’t really serving a purpose. We saw an opportunity to make it so much more!

We created a custom-looking buffet moment that brings both beauty and function to the room. It provides extra storage for cookbooks and everyday essentials, a place to display collected decor, and, when friends and family come over, an additional surface for serving food and drinks.

Because great interior design isn’t just about making a room look beautiful. It’s about making your home work better for the way you actually live.

Have an awkward or underutilized space in your home? A thoughtful design plan can turn it into one of your favorite features.

Sometimes the biggest transformation isn’t about adding more. It’s about figuring out what you can take away.

This living room had a very traditional fireplace with a bulky mantel and a stone hearth that extended nearly 2 feet into the room. It was beautiful in its own way—but it was also taking up valuable space.

So we rethought the entire footprint.

We removed the deep hearth, created a much flatter fireplace profile, lightened the mantel with paint, and added a subtle brick-pattern tile to bring in texture without overwhelming the space.

The result? A fireplace that feels more intentional, while giving the living room more room to breathe.

And that’s one of our favorite parts of interior design: sometimes a room doesn’t need more furniture, more decor, or more square footage. It just needs a better plan.

Would you sacrifice a traditional hearth to gain more usable space in your living room?

When did having people over become something we had to prepare for?

Somewhere between perfectly styled homes, picture-perfect tables and the pressure to have everything “finished,” we may have forgotten what having people over was really about.

It was about lingering around the kitchen.
Pouring another glass of wine.
Laughing a little too loudly.
And saying, “Stay awhile.”

We think a well-designed home should make those moments easier—not make you feel like your home has to be perfect before you can open the door.

So… whatever happened to just having people over?

We’re talking about it on the blog. 🤍
