When a tree fell through Susan and Dan’s longtime home, there was one piece of trim everyone knew had to come out before anything else.

The family measuring wall.

Twenty-plus years of marks, memories, and growing up.

Today, it hangs in their new home like a piece of art.

The house may be new, but the story isn’t.

And maybe that’s the best part of this entire project.

They didn’t have to leave everything behind to begin again.

Dustin prefers the ugly stuff.

Closing day has a few other things to say.

Lender fees. Appraisal. Insurance. Taxes. Escrow. And depending on the property, HOA-related costs too.

None of these should be a surprise when you’re sitting down to sign papers.

A good agent and lender should help you understand the numbers early, so you’re planning for the actual cost of buying a home, not just the number you need for the down payment.

Closing day is exciting. 🔑

After a year of seeing this home mostly through plans, samples, construction dust, and a whole lot of decisions…

Kayla finally gets to show you the finished product.

Our Tanglewood new build is done, and this one is full of the kind of details that make her designer heart happy.

Bold color next to quiet neutrals.
Custom details that actually serve a purpose.
Rooms that feel different, but still belong together.

There’s a lot more country in Leslie Loftis than you might guess.

She grew up on an Oklahoma dairy farm with 350 Holstein cows, spent decades in New York, and eventually found her way back to Texas.

And these days?

She can still bale hay, run a tractor, and happily spend a weekend helping her dad on the family cattle ranch.

It’s also why working with farms, ranches, and land feels a little different for Leslie.

She knows there’s more to a piece of property than acreage.

There’s work in it. Family in it. History in it.

For Leslie, that part feels a whole lot like home. 🐄

When we started this kitchen, the word that kept coming up was “earthy.”

Not trendy. Not flashy.

Grounded.

So we built the entire design direction around warm neutrals, soft sage tones, warm brass details, and layered textures that make the space feel calm and lived in.

The oversized island, built-in breakfast nook, and surrounding cabinetry were all designed to create better connection throughout the home.

The storyboards helped establish the overall tone early on while the design boards layered in lighting, finishes, and details that brought warmth into every corner.

And even though the final kitchen feels effortless now, every inch was intentional.

From the textured glass cabinetry to the marble-look surfaces and earthy palette, the goal was always the same.

Create a kitchen that feels timeless, welcoming, and easy to live in. 🌿
