Tarot and Tea at Hemlock Haus is a week away! Can't wait to see everyone there!

Okay, so I recently bought a new deck (The Lubanko Tarot, isn't it gorgeous?) and I haven't yet done many readings with it. But I thought to myself, this deck is meant to aid in shadow work, so let's try it out.

Here's how I pulled: i shuffled the deck, then turned over cards one by one until I found The Sun. This is the anchor card. It's the light that is being cast right now. The next card, the Ace of Cups (reversed) represents my current state of being. And the third card, The Lovers (again reversed), is the shadow being cast.

So my current state: mixing up my emotions and my thoughts, maybe engaging in emotional reasoning, or at the very least, perhaps in danger of being overwhelmed by emotions because the cup is going to eventually empty out on me.

And for the Shadow: I love the carnality of this card, and the unsettling imagery. Is there perhaps a fear or possibility of losing myself in another, or in the choices I am making? How do I go about remembering who I am and being true to myself?

I think it's a pretty accurate read. But tell me what you think!

"Pick a card, any card..."

I loved getting the chance to do this series of photos with Dynamite Dames Photography. I'm typically so bad about taking photos of myself, aside from one or two rushed selfies. These really, I think, capture the energy that I hope to bring when it comes to sitting down with me for a reading.

If it feels like your way forward is blocked, or like you're "spinning your wheels" and getting nowhere, you might consider doing a road opening. Inscribed the candle with sigil or symbols related to the issue, and use the wash to anoint yourself or items related to the issue.

Calling on Ganesh may also be helpful. The elephant-headed god is known for helping remove obstacles.
