Wanted: Michigan Artist / Crafters / Direct sales.
When: Each Weekend opening October 31st through December 21st. (24th)
Do 1 weekend, Do All, or anything in between.
Where: 1475 N. Burkhart Road G340, Howell, MI 48855 (Outlet Mall)
Answers to your questions:
Mi Holiday Artisan Market: A place where people can find that perfect Michigan made personal gift, whether it is for themselves or someone special to them. A Pop-up store, allowing more of the Michigan Local Artist/ Crafters/ Hobbyists, etc… a place to display and sell their creations with low booth fees and no drama.
November and December Holiday Events:
The Store will open 10am on Saturday October 31st then close 2pm December 24th.
You may choose to join us for one weekend, all weekends or anything in-between.
Where?: I have rented space # G340 at the Howell Kensington Valley Outlet Mall, (1475 N. Burkhart Rd store G340 Howell Mi 48855). this will be the 5th year for these successful events. Our pervious events were very positively received by shoppers and the majority of the Vendors. (can’t please everyone) We are pleased to see many returning Vendors and referrals.
Store Hours: Friday & Saturday 10am to 7 pm & Sunday 11am to 5pm. We Intend to have the store open during the weekdays as well, but we are leaving that fluid, based on the availability of the Salespeople. Black Friday and Saturday opening early: 8am. The store will be closed on Thanksgiving.
Attendance:
We strongly suggest utilizing this opportunity as a holiday store -set up -then go on your merry way!
We have Salespeople at the Market to sell your creations for anytime you are not available to be there. There is a 20% commission fee on any sale made by the MHAM salespeople. This 20% commission goes directly to the Salesperson. Commissions are ONLY taken if you are NOT in attendance!
Shopper Attendance:
This is a retail setting, you will not receive "art show" traffic, BUT people come to the mall to make purchases...that is why we have a 3 day(possibly 6 day) show- that you do NOT have to be present for, for the low fee- we know this is a marathon not a sprint.
Commission?
There is a 20% commission fee on any sale made if You or your representative are not in attendance. This means you do not need to miss out on the whole weekend because of a Birthday Party, School event, Holiday Party or better yet, split your display – attend another craft fair while allowing our people to sell your products – be in two places at once! You could have a display set up here, and do another show elsewhere…
Back to back weekends: If you attend two or more weekends in a row, you do not need to breakdown on Sunday. Your display and products may remain in place, giving us the opportunity to sell for you during all possible open stores hours.
You are responsible to provide for your own Tables, Display and Chairs
Quantity of Vendors / Spaces: I am able to create 10 of the 10 x 10 “wall spaces, 3 “Wonkie” wall spaces 8x14ish, these spaces are around the perimeter of the store, the back wall of each booth is a railed wall with shelving available. ’There are numerous 5 foot table spaces making an interior circle – we have a limited number of tables and cloths available for the first people to request them,. You may also choose an “interior 10x10” on the inner circle, with one restriction: your display may not obstruct the view above 4’ in height. We want everyone to be seen. To promote good sales for everyone we minimize like vendors per weekend.
How will you take payment if I am not there? I have a Square set up as “Mi Holiday Artisan Market” on which I have each Vendor listed. All payment for sales will be logged into this system. At the end of the week, I tally the numbers, add any necessary sales tax then send you your payment via Zelle, Paypal or Venmo. ( you will need to provide the necessary QR codes).
Advertising: I will again be contracting with WHMI for radio spots and submitting Gift Certificates to be won. Flyer cards have been being distributed all year by myself and numerous artists. Please let me know if you are willing to hand them out as well.
Who is accepted: I really only have two rules: 1) as previously stated, limited like vendors per weekend, direct sales vendors are to be the only one on any given weekend ( 1 avon, 1 streetcolor, 1 pampered chef, 1 Tupperware) and rule number 2) I do not allow “buy/sell”- these are vendors that purchase items off of Wish/ Temu/ Alibaba and the likes, reprice them and sell them. It is acceptable to have a few, complimentary items that are not Michigan made, but 90% must be handcrafted. I do not “Jury” the show, because I do not believe it is my place to say what “Art” is! Everyone has different tastes and likes, who am I to judge.
Rates:
Early November : 10/31& 11/1st, 6-8th, 12-15th and / or 20-22nd weekend = 10' x 10' wall space $70.00 per weekend, 5' table space $50 per weekend - includes a table and grey tablecloth, while supplies last
November 27-29th , (Black Friday weekend) & December : 4-6th, 11-13th. 18-20th, week days 21-24th (24th closes at 2pm). 10' x 10' wall space $120.00 per weekend, 5' table space $70.00 per weekend- includes a table and grey tablecloth, while supplies last.
* Register and pay for events before October 1st to receive $10.00 off per weekend for a 10x10 spaces and $5 off per 5 table space.
Application / Registration:
1)page Mi Unique Art, has a link to the Google Applications, 2) I can send a link via e-mail, 3) I can send a printable copy via e-mail. Or the easiest way- come into the Mi Unique Art store located in space G100 (across the lot from Old Navy)** Your space is not held until payment is received (Paypal, Venmo, Check or Cash all on the application), If for some reason you are not accepted, your payment will be returned. Remember limited like Artists per category per weekend, so secure your space early….
Refunds?: If I have to cancel- You will receive a full refund. If you change your mind or cancel- I will offer to apply the funds to a space on a future weekend if space is available for your category for said weekend.
How do I Apply? 1) submit Application / Registration, 2) pay for your space 3) I will send confirmation / apology letter. 4) If apology your payment will be returned. If Confirmation you many choose your set up time / date.
Set Up & Breakdown:
Set up is available at your convenience during store hours Tuesday – Friday (10am-7pm) of the week leading up to your weekend, Please text or email when you know when you would like to set up – it is best that we know when you are arriving.
Breakdown is immediately following your final Sunday or the next Tuesday by arrangement with management.
If you choose to attend up to Christmas Eve – The store will close promptly at 2pm on Christmas Eve, everyone then goes home to enjoy family time. Breakdown will happen on December 27, & 28th.
