Making complex HVAC installations easier starts with the right connection system.

Ellington Public Schools, located in Ellington, CT, partnered with Nutmeg Mechanical Services Inc. on a large-scale HVAC installation project.

The project required 1-5/8" and 1-3/8" refrigerant lines operating at 500 PSI to support 30 and 40-ton Daikin VRF systems.

To get the job done, they chose Conex Bänninger >B< Maxi Pro fittings.

>B< MaxiPro is built to handle the big-tonnage systems schools, hospitals, and commercial buildings rely on every day.

On the tooling side, the team ran the Milwaukee M18 FORCE LOGIC Long Throw Press Tool with the appropriately sized ring and actuator, purpose-built for large-diameter ACR work.

The result is a reliable, leak-tight joining method that let the crew move fast without sacrificing the performance a VRF system demands at pressure. Now, Ellington Public Schools are ready to start the school year off right, managing comfort across different classrooms and spaces.

Three tenths of a micron.

That's how thick the finish is on a Hansgrohe Group fixture. For reference, a human hair is 80 micron, and a single bacterial cell is 3.

Our team spent a day at the Hansgrohe North America Aquademie in Alpharetta, and got to watch the PVD finishing process live.

hansgrohe PVD finishes are second to none. When they tested PVD surfaces against industry-standard polished chrome and brass, the coating withstood 500 cycles of the 3M Scotch-Brite Sponges without a visible scratch.

Products are cleaned in an industrial high-tech washing machine before transferring to the PVD chamber. During the process, the coating material is vaporized and rotated in the PVD chamber, using special gasses to evenly deposit the vaporized metal.

hansgrohe turns 125 this year. A century and a quarter later they're still innovating to perfection.
