Design MACS is an all inclusive interior design and build firm that has assisted clients throughout NJ, NYC and abroad in realizing their design dreams.

I love the challenge of designing for clients. Through other companies I have created spaces for celebrities such as Kris Humphries, Today Show correspondent Jenna Wolfe, and Charles Kelley from the country music group Lady Antebellum. I aim for my designs to always be fresh and exciting integrating new products and artists into my projects, making each space truly one of a kind. I have appeared i

n episodes of Designed to Sell, Dear Genevieve, and Home Rules on HGTV as well as other series on the DIY Network and A&E. After working on these shows, I have decided it is time to grow my own business. As the owner of Design MACS, LLC, I am able to share my passion, enthusiasm, and expertise in designing functional yet exciting spaces. I am not afraid to tackle any space or client and enjoy working hand in hand with the build team to ensure a product that surpasses expectations.

Design takes shape through hundreds of decisions, many of which happen long before a room is complete.

Materials are reviewed, studied, and assembled with care, allowing relationships between texture, scale, light, and architecture to emerge.

This stage of the process lays the foundation for spaces that feel effortless, cohesive, and enduring.

From material selections, project conversations, site visits, and the quiet details that shape a home long before it is complete.

Each moment carries part of the larger vision, from the earliest ideas to the decisions that bring a space closer to life. August was a month of movement, refinement, and thoughtful progress.

Some projects unfold over months. Others become part of a family’s story. What began as a search for a home evolved into an opportunity to create one from the ground up.

Each decision contributed to a vision that reflected the people who would live within it. From the placement of a window to the design of a staircase, each detail was considered in relation to the larger experience of the home.

The result is more than a finished project. It is a home shaped around the lives, priorities, and memories of the family it was created for.

This mudroom was designed around the details of everyday life, creating a place for what you want within reach and plenty of room for everything you don’t.

Even with a coat closet just steps away, we incorporated generous closed cabinetry, then balanced it with open shelving, hooks, and a long bench for the things that are part of the everyday rhythm of coming and going.

We also wanted this passageway to have a sense of character of its own. Shiplap wraps the walls and continues across the ceiling, creating an unexpected architectural moment that draws your eye through the space and makes it feel more expansive.

We begin by understanding how a family will live, what they need within reach, what can be tucked away, and where the everyday can feel special. The result feels intuitive, tailored, and beautifully resolved.

This kitchen was shaped around mood, personality, and the art of bringing different styles and moments of character together in a way that feels entirely its own.

We looked for opportunities throughout to create warmth and a sense of history. A cement tile “carpet” grounds the island, while its worn finish gives a newly made piece the feeling of something reclaimed. The sink base was designed to resemble a salvaged piece of furniture, an apothecary-inspired cabinet introduces an unexpected reference, and a custom hood, finished on all sides, becomes a sculptural element within the room.

These moments are intentionally distinct, and the result is a kitchen with layers to discover, where old and new, refined and worn, practical and unexpected come together to create something deeply individual.

The right light fixture can define an entire room.

In this project, our team considered lighting from the earliest architectural plans, carefully studying scale, proportion, placement, and the way each fixture would be experienced from adjoining spaces.

We curated every piece for more than illumination. Each pendant and chandelier was selected for its sculptural form, visual rhythm, and ability to bring a distinct sense of character to the room.

The result is lighting that feels fully integrated into the design, creating presence by day and a beautifully layered atmosphere after dark.

An unfinished basement was transformed into a refined extension of the home, thoughtfully planned for gathering, working, entertaining, and play.

Inspired by the charm of a classic ice cream shop, we designed a playroom centered around a whimsical storefront entrance, complete with a Dutch door, macaron poufs, and a suspended swing.

Built-in storage, a cozy media area, and space for tea parties allow the room to grow with the girls. Watch until the end to see the detail that made them smile most.

A finished home often feels effortless but getting there is a journey that is punctuated by site visits.

Site visits allow us to evaluate materials in their intended environment, confirm dimensions, review installations, and
ensure every detail is aligned with the vision for the home.

While many of these details may fade into the background, their precision is what makes the finished home feel effortless.

A retreat designed around the way this family lives and gathers.

Warm neutrals, layered textures, and subtle equestrian references create a room that feels refined, personal, and deeply comfortable. The reimagined fireplace now anchors the space with greater balance and presence, allowing the furnishings to gather naturally around it.

Sheer color-blocked drapery preserves the natural light and surrounding view, while meaningful details, including the custom-framed Hermès scarf and a dedicated corner for afternoon tea, bring the family’s rituals and personality into the design.

A considered balance of comfort, character, and understated luxury.

The homes that feel the most exceptional are rarely created by chance. They emerge through careful planning, thoughtful collaboration, and a commitment to getting the details right at every stage.

From the earliest conversations through final installation, our role is to guide the transformation process with clarity and intention.
