A fireplace can be more than a source of warmth—it can become one of the room's strongest architectural features.

The right fireplace trim and mantel molding can conceal gaps, create clean transitions, establish better proportions, and tie the fireplace into the home's existing doors, windows, baseboards, and millwork.

From simple modern casing to layered traditional molding, thoughtful trim can completely change the finished appearance of a fireplace.

We've put together a practical guide covering fireplace trim ideas, mantel design, molding profiles, material selection, measuring, clearances, and installation considerations.

Read the full guide and get inspired for your next remodeling project.

🔥 Project Spotlight: AMLI Lofts | South Loop, Chicago

Fire-rated doors are a critical part of a building’s life-safety system — and they’re about much more than the door itself.

For AMLI Lofts in Chicago’s South Loop, Darpet Doors & Trim supplied a variety of flush fire-rated steel doors for stairwells, exits, storage areas, bathrooms, loading dock access, and individual apartment entries.

Configurations included vision lites, push bars, lever locksets, deadlocks, closers, kickplates, and peepholes, tailored to the needs of each opening.

Our latest case study explores how fire-rated door assemblies work, where they’re commonly required, and what contractors, architects, and developers should consider when specifying them.
