PARE - THE NAME

We get asked often about our brand name PARE. I love telling the story of how it became our identity. About 8 years ago, when this was still an idea and dream, we brainstormed a “good” name for a candle business. The marketplace was not nearly as saturated as it is now, but we knew we wanted to stand out. We wanted our name to feel connected and stand the test of time and location.

As we began digging into “what do we stand for? What is our point of view?” The word PARE bubbled up. As we landed on this word, its meaning and connection took shape, and here we are.

We are excited to be at the market twice this month and BACK AT MAIN STREET FESTIVAL in downtown Franklin!

It always feels like the official kick off to the warm season when Main Street Festival happens. This is the 42nd year and we couldn’t be more excited to represent Franklin!

We have some exciting new candle projects coming this month including a new Limited Edition candle AND a brand new artist collaboration!

NEW YEAR | OUR CANDLES

It’s easy to talk about our candles because they are simple, clean ingredients.

We don’t add “stuff” to our candles like dye, scent boosters, and fillers.

We keep our custom wax blend natural with soy and coconut waxes.

We keep our scents clean burning by using premium fragrance oils that adhere to strict standards such as ZERO phthalates, parabens, mutagens and carcinogens as well as being compliant with California prop 65.

Our wicks are cotton. Always. No metal, zinc or other funny stuff.

Every scent goes through extensive testing (sometimes several months). We are very picky and we don’t just settle to get something launched.

Every small batch is crafted by hand - start to finish. That means we load our wax melter, we weigh our wax and fragrance oils, we fill each pot, we check the temperatures, we add and stir each pot, and finally we pour each pot. With our own hands. We trim the wicks, clean the vessels, apply the labels. We thoughtfully package and ship every package with recyclable and eco friendly packing materials. No plastic or bubble wrap.

We do all of this to offer our absolute best in the final product - a clean burning, lasting scent experience for the life of your candle - so that you can fill your space with warmth, comfort and an elevated sense of simplicity.

Our newest candle in the Limited Collection is the perfect scent as we transition from winter to spring.

Fresh herbaceous notes of rosemary and sage are complemented by juicy grapefruit and citrus, and a hint of cedar and peach round out this scent. Bright and earthy. Cheerful and grounding.

Our brand identity and focus has remained the same since inception, but we want to put a refresh here on IG for everyone new to pare, and as a reminder of who we are for everyone who’s been following and supporting us.

Candles are meant to enhance your environment in every way. Made from clean-burning natural wax, our candles deliver a lasting fragrance and provide a cozy ambiance with their soft glow and gently flickering cotton wicks as you enjoy watching them slowly burn.

Our branding and aesthetic is intentionally neutral with clean lines and clear style to enhance your space and decor, regardless of style. Instead of following trend, we proudly maintain a consistent and timeless approach.
