This weekend, TBDesign is on the road.

What started in our Bowling Green workshop is moving through six communities across four states, with nearly 1,200 miles logged carrying restored furniture to its next chapters.

From Bowling Green, Kentucky, the journey continued to Louisville, Kentucky, then east to Lynchburg, Virginia, before heading back through Knoxville, Tennessee, Cookeville, Tennessee, and Meridianville, Alabama.

Along the way, there have been highways, fuel stops, small towns, conversations, customers, and a lot of miles. But the trip has never really been just about moving furniture.

It is about the stories these pieces already carry and the people who choose to continue them.

Bowling Green → Louisville → Lynchburg → Knoxville → Cookeville → Meridianville

Six communities. Four states. Nearly 1,200 miles. One trailer full of stories finding their way home.

We recently took in two extraordinary historic pieces entrusted to us by new clients. Passed down through their family for two generations, one of these solid red oak pieces traces back to Missouri—crafted with remarkable flush joinery, dovetail details, and a deeply significant history.

At TBDesign, restoration goes beyond reviving old wood; it's about honoring original craftsmanship, preserving family heirlooms, and keeping history alive for generations to come.

Three pieces. Three new homes. Which one would you have chosen?

Our Mid-Century collection, discovered through our Etsy shop, is headed to Lynchburg, Virginia. The black serpentine chest is going home to Cookeville, Tennessee, and the small serpentine chest is headed to Meridianville, Alabama.

That’s what we love about vintage furniture. The story doesn’t end when a piece leaves us. It simply continues somewhere new.

Behind every piece in the shop is a story that starts long before the refinishing or painting ever begins. It starts with the hunt, the haul, and a whole lot of sweat.
Finding true quality craftsmanship takes time and patience. It means tracking down forgotten pieces, seeing potential where others see age, and doing the heavy lifting in the middle of a sweltering summer day. On this trip, we managed to pull together two distinct styles that each tell their own story: a classic Mid-Century dresser set with timeless lines and its matching mirror, alongside a textured Boho piece built with character you just cannot find in modern, mass-produced furniture.
Loading up heavy, solid-wood furniture in this heat isn't easy work, but saving pieces built with real integrity and bringing them back home to the shop makes every bit of the effort worth it.

They just don’t make them like this anymore. Look at the dramatic grain movement on those drawer fronts and the intricate, hand-carved framework around that mirror. From the delicate upper glove drawers to the sculpted shell pulls, every square inch of this piece is pure craftsmanship.
