I hope today is filled with that deep, steady kind of joy—the kind that comes from knowing the tomb is empty, the price is paid, and everything has changed because of it.

Today is called Good Friday, but there was nothing easy about it. This was the day Jesus was betrayed, beaten, mocked, and crucified. The day the Son of God willingly suffered and died.

And yet—we call it good.

Because on this day, He stood in our place.

Jesus lived the perfect life we could never live—without sin, without fault—and then took on the punishment we deserve. Every sin, every failure, every moment of rebellion… laid on Him. Not by accident, but by design.

God is just. Sin has a cost. And at the cross, that cost was paid.

Not by us—but for us.

Jesus didn’t stay in the grave. Three days later, He rose again, proving that sin and death had been defeated. Proving that He is who He said He is—God in the flesh.

And because of that, everything changes.

You don’t earn this. You don’t clean yourself up first. You don’t try harder and hope it’s enough.

You simply believe.

Believe that Jesus died for you. Believe that He paid for your sin in full. Turn from trusting in yourself, and place your trust in Him alone.

That’s what it means to be saved.

Completely forgiven. Fully restored. Made new.

That’s why we call it good.

At the Last Supper, Jesus lifted the cup and gave it new meaning.

“This cup that is poured out for you is the new covenant in my blood.”

In that moment, the cup became a symbol of the sacrifice He was about to make — His blood poured out so that our sins could be forgiven.

A quiet reminder of the covenant Christ made for us. ✝️
