Morning Light

From the High Summer Collection

There is a quiet kind of beauty that belongs only to early morning in a Southern summer. Before the birds begin their chorus, the garden is washed in soft light, the leaves still glistening from the night, and everything feels fresh again.

Morning Light was created to capture that fleeting moment.

Part of the High Summer Collection, this arrangement celebrates plants selected to flourish through the heat and humidity of the Gulf South. Graceful Angelonia rises above lush foliage, bringing the gentle movement and airy beauty of a summer morning to your porch or garden.

Care

* Light: Morning sun to bright partial sun. Protect from the hottest afternoon sun for best performance.
* Water: Water thoroughly when the top inch of soil feels dry. Allow excess water to drain freely.
* Feed: Apply a balanced liquid fertilizer every 2–3 weeks during the growing season.
* Groom: Remove spent flower spikes to encourage continuous blooms.

The beauty of a Southern morning never lasts long, but this planter was created to bring a little of that peaceful beginning to your porch each day.

High Summer

Every Southern summer has its own rhythm. Morning begins with birdsong and soft light. By afternoon, the air is heavy with heat and thunderclouds gather in the distance. As evening falls, the cicadas sing, fireflies begin to glow, and porches fill with people grateful for a little cooling.

That is High Summer.

This Porch & Petal collection was created to embrace the beauty of a hot, humid Louisiana summer. Every planter was designed with hardy, heat-tolerant plants chosen to thrive through the long days of sunshine, afternoon storms, and warm evenings on the porch.

Each arrangement tells part of the story of a summer day:
• Morning Light
• Birdsong
• Kitchen Garden
• Afternoon Thunder
• Golden Hour
• Fireflies at Twilight
• By the Light of the Moon
• The Sleeping Porch

Over the next several days, I’d love to introduce you to each one and share the story behind its name.

Because sometimes a planter can be more than beautiful—it can remind us of a place, a season, or a moment we never want to forget.

First delivery. 🌿

Every business has a first customer, a first order, and a first delivery.

Today was mine.

It’s amazing how something that seems so small can mean so much. Every planter I build carries a little piece of my creativity, and getting to share them with others is exactly why I started this journey.

This little planter represents months of dreaming, planning, learning, second-guessing, and finally deciding to begin. I’m incredibly grateful to everyone who has encouraged me along the way.

Here’s to many more front porches, blooming flowers, and happy customers. 💚

A reminder from the sky late yesterday.

The rain won’t last forever.

The July Porch & Petal collection is running a little behind thanks to this week’s tropical weather, but beautiful things are still growing.

The gardens are drinking deeply.
The flowers are getting stronger.
And somewhere beyond the clouds, the next season is already unfolding.

Thank you for your patience while nature does what nature does best.

Something beautiful is coming. 🌿

Earlier this week I stopped to admire these hydrangeas growing beside a friend’s porch.

She told me she wished she could repaint the railing, but she just isn’t able anymore.

This is the home where she grew up, and today, at 85 years old, she still calls it home.

As I looked at that weathered railing and those worn blue steps, I couldn’t help but wonder about all the greetings they have witnessed through the years.

Family and friends welcomed onto the porch, neighbors stopping to visit, loved ones returning from war, and generations gathering for Sunday dinner after church. Countless conversations, handshakes, hugs, and memories have passed through this very place.

The weathered railing, the worn steps, and the hydrangeas in bloom tell the story of a life well lived and a place well loved.

Sometimes the most beautiful gardens aren’t the perfect ones.

They’re the ones that have weathered many seasons and still welcome people home.
