The woman designing your next chapter understands what it means to begin one of her own.

After 29 years in high tech, Dee Dee chose to build a career around what had always mattered most to her: family, home and bringing people together.

That experience, paired with nearly 10 years of leading Delaney’s Design, gives her a particular understanding of clients whose lives are changing, too. Children grow, priorities shift, and the home that once worked beautifully may need to support an entirely different season.

When your daughter and grandchildren live close enough to come for dinner, the dining room can’t feel like an afterthought.

That was the opportunity in our clients’ second home at Robson Ranch. They moved to be closer to family and brought with them a genuine love of hosting, but their only indoor dining area still felt like the builder’s starting point.

They already had pieces they loved, so we began there. Wallcovering and full-height drapery brought warmth to the room, while the sculptural chandelier gave it a center. Suddenly, everything they kept felt as though it belonged together.

For our Lake Lewisville project, we wanted the home to feel distinctly Texas while still feeling collected, sophisticated and completely personal to the family who lives there.

That’s how we approach Texas chic. It’s edited, layered and intentional. You’ll find a cow skull, hide underfoot, whipstitch details on the pillows and colors that feel right at home in Texas, but nothing feels kitschy or like we’re trying to play a character.
You know you’re in Texas without it screaming “yeehaw.”

There are enough things in life that require extra effort. Your laundry room doesn’t need to be one of them.

Here, we thought through the little frustrations that add up: where delicates hang, where laundry gets sorted, where folding happens, where the steamer actually belongs, and where everything from extra paper goods to pool towels and the broom can stay organized and out of sight.

It’s one of the interesting things about this season of life.

You may not need the house to function the way it did when your children were living at home every day. But you still want Christmas morning. Grandchildren for the weekend. Your daughter coming home for a few days and feeling like she still has a place there.

So the question isn’t always, “Do we need less house?”
Sometimes it’s, “What deserves space now?”

There comes a point when you stop renovating for “someday” and start designing for exactly how you want to live now.

You know what you love. You know what you’re tired of working around. And you’re thinking a little further ahead - not because you’re slowing down, but because you know the value of getting it right the first time.

For these clients, that meant finally creating the primary bath they wanted to start their mornings in and unwind in at the end of the day. They had tried to get the project moving on their own, but there were more decisions, details and moving pieces than they wanted to manage. So we took it from there.

Yes, the room is more beautiful. But the bigger transformation is how well it works for their life now and how thoughtfully it will continue to work for them in the years ahead.

Maybe that’s the real luxury at this stage of life: creating a home that feels like you now, while knowing you’ve thought well about what comes next.

Sometimes you don’t need to start over. You just want the room to feel like you again.

This space already had a beautiful foundation, so we focused on the furnishings, art, texture and finishing details that could bring more personality and warmth into the room.

Football is on, pumpkins are out, and the calendar officially says fall. In North Dallas, that means some of the best evenings outside are just beginning.

Dinner ends, someone pours another glass, the chairs pull closer and nobody is quite ready to go inside.

The real value of an outdoor space isn’t how it looks in July. It’s the time it gives you with the people you want around you.
