Your weekend just got tastier.

The shelves are loaded again, and this week's goodies are not messing around: giant peach cobbler and strawberry muffins from Batter & Brine, sourdough cookies from Mountain Lake Bakes in brown butter s'mores and strawberries & cream (yes, they taste like they sound), sourdough flights for the bread lovers, and the cooler stocked with Mt. Crawford Creamery butter, cheese, and milk.

New goodies land every Friday, and when they're gone, they're gone. Come early, leave happy.

It's official: the Cars & Corn event page is live!

The 2nd Annual Classic Cars and Corn rolls into Happy Creek Crossing on Saturday, September 12, from 3:00 to 7:27 PM, and we would love to see your face there. Classic cars of every make and year, a corn eating contest, food, games, vendors, and a sunset cruise-out to end the day in style.

Saturday is Farm to Fam day.

Each box is packed with farm-fresh staples from our local Virginia farmers, about five dinners plus snacks for a family of four. It is free if you qualify, and 100% of proceeds go right back into the program.

We put it together with Robby D's Lil Greens and the farmers who grow it, neighbors taking care of neighbors.

Some pieces come with bonus history inside.

This antique White Rotary treadle sewing machine, made in Cleveland, Ohio, arrived complete. And when we opened the drawers, out came the treasures: vintage buttons, buckles, and notions by the boxful, tucked away by whoever sewed at it last.

The best part? It's already been delivered, to the woman who had been asking for exactly this base. The right piece found the right person, surprise drawers and all.

That's the thing about treasure hunting: you never know what you'll find, or what's hiding inside it. Come hunt with us.

She came back a few weeks after her first visit, looking for one specific piece: a heart made from horseshoes, meant to become a birthday gift. She was certain it would already be gone.

It was still here.
