My interest in woodburning was first "sparked" when I was twelve, but I began really working as a woodburning artist (or pyrographer) in 2006. Pyrography (which is Greek for "Fire Writing") is the art of producing designs on wood, leather, or other materials by using heated tools or a fine flame. (I use a heated tool on wood... the idea of an open flame is interesting, but I'd like to keep my eyeb

rows.) Most of my work is religious in theme but some are just fun. Whatever the subject, a lot of prayer and care goes into my work! I hope you find something that inspires you. This medium is very special to me. Wood plays such an important role in Christianity. Think about the Tree in the Garden of Eden, Noah's Ark, and of course, The Cross! Joseph was also a carpenter and probably taught his craft to Jesus! It seems very fitting to show my love for Our Lord and His Church by burning these images onto wood.
