Fulton Footpaths

Fulton Footpaths Fulton Footpaths was created to help better define and create recreational trails in the city and make aesthetic improvements along the way.

Fulton Footpaths is focused on developing walking trails that connect the natural resources of the Oswego River and Lake Neatahwanta in Fulton with parks and attractions. It is our hope that benches, landscaping, informational kiosks, lighting, and public art will be featured along the trails for people to walk for fitness, enjoyment, and also to learn about local history. Native Americans, early

European settlers, the military, and the industries are all part of Fulton's history. Our first goal is to obtain funding for a feasibility study, which will help to put these trails in place through a phased approach. This is an all-volunteer effort.

On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. the public is invited to walk on the new Pathfinder Trail in celebration of National Trails Day. This site was selected by Oswego County Healthy Miles--a group committed to promoting walking and healthy lifestyles--not only because of the new pathway, lighting and benches but because the path is fully accessible for all ages and abilities. We hope to see you there--taking a walk in Fulton, on the Oswego River, on National Trails Day. ***Indian Point is located at the boat launch on the east side of the river--just north of Mimi's. *** . https://www.oswegocounty.com/news_detail_T17_R1804.php

Local history and wildlife will be featured on two informational panels on the new Pathfinder trail. Some who have been down on the trail may have noticed a new panel or two installed. The artwork currently featured is a placeholder. The local installation is forthcoming.

If you haven’t been down to Oswego recently to walk at Brietbeck Park, it’s worth a drive to visit. Lots more places to walk along the lake. Can’t wait to see the additional improvements with the marina.
