LATE AUGUST | INSPIRED BY PLACE

There is something about the mountains of Cashiers & Highlands this time of year.

The gardens are still full, the grass is impossibly green, and the days are warm—but there is a quiet shift beginning. A little more softness in the landscape. A sense of slowing down and coming home.

From the old farmhouses and split-rail fences to winding creeks, covered bridges and gardens that feel as though they have always been there, there is inspiration everywhere.

These are the details I find myself bringing home with me—not to recreate literally, but to remember the feeling.

Weathered wood. Soft whites. Deep greens. Natural stone. Collected gardens. Simple architecture. Things made better with age.

The best interiors can do the same thing.

They don’t simply look beautiful.
They give us a sense of place, history and belonging.
