Our Story

When you walk into Cynthia’s Corner, you’ll know you’re home. Expect a big Texas welcome in a relaxed atmosphere. Look at patterns from the comfort of a rocking chair. Squeeze luscious yarns to your heart’s content. Pass the time of day with owner Cynthia Roth, who will discuss fiber, admire photos of your offspring, or listen to your troubles with a sympathetic ear. Sit and stitch in the sunny classroom with its flowering plants and antique chairs. Accompanied by a family member? There’s a “non-stitchers’ waiting area” with seating and magazines, so you can shop in peace.

Cynthia's Corner is the only full service yarn shop in the region. It offers a variety of yarns from one-of-a-kind hand dyes to utility synthetics. Accessories range from handmade Furls crochet hooks, to knitting needles in several materials, to locally made yarn bowls. Want to learn knitting, crocheting, spinning, or weaving? We have classes. Stuck on a project? Help is available here.

Looking for a knitting or crocheting group? Come on down! Our Elm Street Hookers, Hookers Too, and Dance Hall Girls are fun groups that provide fellowship, help with projects and techniques, and create items for local charities. From blankets for disaster victims to preemie caps, to Knitted Knockers for cancer survivors, their helping hands meet the need.

For a shopping experience that is friendly, personal, and far removed from today’s “Big Box” yarn buying, make that road trip to Gainesville and visit Cynthia’s Corner. You’ll wonder why you haven’t done it sooner.
