From the man who brought you “Gumby In The Electric Fireplace Above Our Front Desk” comes a new contemporary art installation — “Dante’s Lizards - A Floridian Landscape”.

The artist was quoted as saying “See, this shows that there’s no heat on the inside of an electric fireplace so you can design it however you want — and I wanted lizards.” His daughter was seen shaking her head in response.

Hey, we know that building! Being in a historic building has its challenges but we love being a part of Gainesville history.

Carpet Brokers was originally located at 611 N. Main Street in Gainesville, but eventually moved out to NW 97th Blvd. According to the Alachua County Property Appraiser Office, the building was constructed in 1950. Today this unique building is home to The Wood Stove and Fireplace Center.
