THE LEARNING COTTAGE AT ROLLING RIDGE FARM

A Private On-Farm Education Enrichment Program for Homeschooling Families

Our passion for farm and food education extends to children who will be enriched by farm-related activities connecting them with nature while engaging them in their home-school curriculum.

The Learning Cottage at Rolling Ridge Farm is designed for children in grades 1 through 12. The Fall program will start on September 2, 2026, and will run weekly every Monday and Wednesday from 8-2pm (Grades 1-4) and 8-4pm (Grades 5-12).

What we offer:
An on-farm indoor/outdoor education enrichment program that introduces animal care/husbandry and vegetable/flower production while also offering proctoring and tutoring assistance to your home school student(s).

Who we are:
Conveniently located 20 miles north of Bethesda (along the 270 corridor), Rolling Ridge Farm is a 108 acre market garden farm, CSA and education venue. Our passion is growing chemical/pesticide free vegetables and fruits while also educating our community on the health benefits of locally sourced organic fruits and vegetables.

Rolling Ridge Farm supplies Montgomery County and other non-profit organizations with local farm produce. In addition to offering a CSA, we will soon be opening our plant-based restaurant in Laytonsville – serving fresh locally-sourced nutrient-rich food.

The arrival of May brings the longing for warmer weather and gardens filled with flowers.
We are rediscovering the tradition of May Day Baskets. They are baskets filled with flowers or treats hung anonymously on the doorknob of friends and neighbors to brighten their day and bring them joy on the first day of May.
What makes them special is the way they are given. Unexpectedly. Without expectations. For joy and encouragement.
