Hey folks..it’s Brett & Amy. We realized it’s been a hot minute since we introduced ourselves, and with so many new people here, we wanted to share a little bit about who we are and why we do what we do.

We started Barn Boards & More back in 2008 out of the summer kitchen of 1805 farmhouse with a handful of tools inherited from Amy’s dad, Fred. ..And boy… what a long strange trip it’s been. ( lost our woodshop to fire 2019, global pandemic 2020, raising two beautiful kids and so much more 😬)

Over the years we’ve learned a lot, made mistakes, figured things out the hard way more than once, and continued to grow through every season of this business. But one thing that has never changed is our passion for saving Maine barn wood and preserving a piece of Maine’s agricultural history.

We truly believe if an old barn can be saved standing, it should be. But when it can’t, we try to salvage as much of that historic wood as possible and give it new life.

Not only does reclaimed barn wood carry incredible character and history, but using old growth lumber is also a sustainable way to build. Instead of cutting new trees, we’re able to repurpose beautiful wood that’s already stood the test of time ,tight grain, rich texture, nail holes, saw marks and whole lot of history.

Most importantly, we just want to say thank you.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us, cheered us on, shared our posts, shopped small, taken a class, ordered a custom piece, or told a friend about our little business. It truly means the world to us and our family. Please keep spreading the word about our little business 🔨

If you’r looking for a custom piece for your camp, cottage, home, cabin, or new build, whether it’s a dining table, mantle, beams, barn door, bed, or something completely custom…we’d love to help create something built just for your space.

Thank you for supporting small business and locally made craftsmanship here in Maine. ❤️

Our current May store hours are Saturday 10–4 and Sunday 10–3.

If you’re interested in having a custom piece built for your home, camp, cottage, or cabin, we’d be happy to set up a custom design consultation. Feel free to send us a message to get started. [email protected]
