This historic 8-mile loop in Gatlinburg, TN, has been designated a Tennessee Heritage Arts & Crafts Trail. Established in 1937, these artisans whittle, paint, sew, cast, weave and carve to create original collectibles such as candles, baskets, quilts, brooms, pottery, jewelry, dolls, ceramics, scrimshaw, silver smithing, leather, stained glass, wearable fashions, fine photography, frameable art, oils and watercolors, also lodging, restaurants, cafés, tea room, soda fountain and candy shops. Arts and crafts history rooted in the Smokies! It was a great suprise to meet third-generation broom-maker David Ogle at Ogle's Broom Shop (670 Glades Rd) on the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Loop! David's family has hand-crafted brooms since the 1920's. The shop is behind Jim Gray Gallery and near many additional unique shops. Just minutes from downtown Gatlinburg. A fun and relaxing adventure.

I found handcrafted embroidery, laser-engraved gifts, one-of-a-kind Smoky Mountain keepsakes where you can watch their workshop in action! Pamper yourself! This week I did when I discovered Nelson Farms Store (170 Glades Rd) in the Arts & Crafts Community in Gatlinburg, TN! Goats milk soaps and lotions, candles, jams, jellies, candies, jewelry and so much more! Special items, many that begin at Nelson Farms ... a local working farm! They have another store at 1402 East Pkwy on the 8-mile Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Loop. Come enjoy this and all of the artisan shops awaiting your discovery!

Creativity is Alive on the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Loop in Gatlinburg! This week took me to The Potter's Bench (170 Glades Rd Suite 19). See Master Potter Roger Bench create wheel thrown pottery. His wife and co-owner Lisa was glazing a piece as I watched! The shop had handmade jewelry, paintings, and much more. You don’t want to miss The Potter's Bench as you explore the 8-mile artisan loop.

Wow! On the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Loop I found a great shop at 530 Buckhorn Rd ... Judy Jones Pottery! Custom made hand thrown Smoky Mountain pottery. Hand painted, kiln fired & glazed.
Dinnerware, vases, coffee cups, lamps and so much more.
