I started refinishing furniture for myself, then family, then friends, who urged me to offer my skills and talent as a business, word of mouth is the only way 'Fancy That' came to be. I enjoy this, and do all the work out of my house, I love antique furniture, and I support re-furbishing an old piece to suit your taste or style rather than buying a new piece, it is my way of encouraging recycling

on a larger scale. I rescue wonderful furniture and give it a new life, to be loved and appreciated once again.

Exciting news for the gold and pink arm chair, she’s going to live at Sydney’s Cat Lounge, I am told its Bridgerton themed with a mix of Alice in Wonderland. It sounds perfect for this chair!!!

Welp, my gold paint is too transparent and will take my whole supply to do one chair so I’ve changed course and ordered a “warm gold” spray paint to cover the chairs. Depending on how I like it I might hand paint the antique gold over the spray paint to give it a brushed gold finish.

Both chairs stripped and phase one of cleaning is done, still need more cleaning, they were grimy!!!! Cleaning well before paint makes all the difference. After seeing tons of furniture flippers use Krud Cutter spray degreaser and cleaner I bought some and it’s cutting through the grime so fast!!!
