Custom painted Kraken for a client—based around the D&D 3.5 iteration. If you’re not familiar, that’s a color palettes of yellow, cream, blue, teal, and copper. The pictures don’t capture all of the details and “flecks” of color throughout, but it turned out great. I think my customer will be happy!

Recent work #2...I usually make my ruin walls with a blue tint and dirt floors, but I can customize anything for my customers.
This order asked for a grey-toned stone and stone floors instead of dirt. I think they turned out great.

I hope everyone is staying safe. It’s been awhile since I’ve shared work. I had a flood of orders at the start of the year and, being a one-person shop, the documentation side of things fell behind. During these strange times my work pace is slowed, but I am able to document and share some of the pieces I’ve been working on recently. Here’s the first.
Enjoy!

Hello to all of the Plaid Elephant supporters out there. I want to take a moment to thank you again for all of the support that you have shown my young business over the past 2+ years. It is because of you, each and every single one of you, that Plaid Elephant Props has continued to grow. Truly amazing, and I am forever grateful.

I am now asking you to take a moment and consider helping my business and the millions of others out there that are in the same situation as me.

Much of what we are experiencing is out of our control and I know we will do the best we can each and every day to get through it together. One thing we can actively do to make an impact is CONTACT YOUR LOCAL AND FEDERAL REPRESENTATIVES, regardless of which state you live in, and let them know that self-employed individuals are in need of relief as well.

Currently the legislation being debated covers "corporations and small businesses." Self-employed individuals fall into a category known as "micro-businesses" and due to that slight difference in how we are catalogued, we are not currently included in the relief bill.

In 2+ years I have served hundreds of individuals throughout the U.S. (every state except Alaska, to date) and countless countries around the globe. Not to mention over 100 local kids/teens at my D&D camps. And I would do it all again, but it does seem disheartening to me to be left out at a time when so many (myself included) are in need of this relief for our business to remain open.

If you can, take a few minutes to ask you Representatives to remember the 57 million, or so, of us who are self-employed/run a micro-business. We matter to our communities and have a larger national and international impact than may be readily apparent.

Thank you for your time. I hope to see you on the other side of this. Stay safe.

Reminder that Summer Kids/Teen D&D Camp registration is OPEN. Registration will stay open until May 31st, 2020...but don't wait, spots are filling up quickly. Camps will be held at the UU Church in Lexington, KY once again.

This year brings a bit of a change to the layout and offerings. One major change is that we will be adding another Dungeon Master this summer (woohoo!). Another is that we are only able to offer sections for ages 9 and up this summer. However, a camp for our younger adventurers (ages 6-8) is slated to be held over Fall Break. I'm hoping this is a temporary change and we are back to normal for summer camps in 2021.

Be sure to check out what's offered and reserve your spot(s) soon! One section is already full and many others have been filled as well.

Many thanks to the local community for your continued support. It is a joy to have your young adventurers spend time with us, and I look forward to seeing them again this year as well!

Registration for Kids/Teens D&D Summer Camp is OPEN!!!

This year is a bit of a transition year. I'm only able to offer some of my normal array of camps, and the schedule is VERY different from previous years. Be sure to check it thoroughly as you make your plans.

Many thanks to the Unitarian Universalist Church of Lexington for allowing us to use their space once again. A perfect spot for our adventures!

I'm also adding a second DM to the mix this year! I'm excited to welcome a former student of mine, Haberlin, as another guide to adventure. She will be running a table in the room right next to mine.

*Registration stays open until May 31st, but several people have already enrolled. Don't wait too long!

Be sure to look at all offerings on the website:
Click the SHOP link and reserve your spot(s) today.

Another Terrain commission completed. This one is a Fort-type structure with a removable second-level area, opening doors, and gridded in 1” squares. It was fun to build and I’m excited to hear the reaction from my client and his party.

A commissioned set of incredibly tiny trees for an architect in GA. 60 deciduous trees (standing (3/4” tall) and 24 evergreens (standing 5/8” tall). These will be used on a model display of a proposed building. I haven’t worked in this small of a scale in a long, long time. Challenging but fun.

Finishing up a set of commissioned barricades for D&D. These will be in their way to Norway soon. A fun build. Might make them a regular option in the Etsy shop if there is interest.
