When we bought our house 5 years ago, it came with a little pond made of a hard plastic shell. The pond had a resident frog to my delight.

After a couple winters it died. That spring, I rescued a toad that was drowning in the pond. Unfortunately, it found its way back into the pond and drowned. Why? Those plastic ponds don't have a "beach" or way out. Time to redo the pond.

I redid the pond and made it out of a flexible rubber mat. I made sure there was a deep end and a shallow end that ended in a beach. Since then I have waited for a new frog to move in. Today I met it!

The small things make me so happy!!
