This is an amazing book ! Left me with a lump in my throat.. it seems like this is real and we make some mistakes in life which we cannot go back from! If life gives you a second chance take ig. Also, someone will always be upset. It is not upto us to fix everything. There are two sides to every coin.. always a second chance and a repeated offender there is a very thin line in-between .. being able to see the difference clearly is hard .. also it takes a lot of courage! Lorissa takes that courage and stands up for herself.. even theough adversities!
Its not selfish to think and realise that one loves thyself the most! So, if something makes you feel better do it.. people will always judge.. comment but if we continue to give in to what others think you will be in survival mode! Chris and Lorissa shows us that..!

I forgot to touch upon Mike.. he has been shown as a character who is dealing with habits who finally takes the step towards therapy and healing.. but I do feel like he showed a very big heart by accpeting his ex as the new girl friend of his best friend.. its a tricky situation and it they made it work!

Also, it just struck me that Abby Jimenez always usually has a women struggling to find a foot into being a successful entrepreneur and maybe its a reflection of her struggles to become the owner to her bakery chain.. This makes it even more special for me.. not that I am trying to be an entrepreneur by any means .. but there is struggles to it no matter what job you have .. for a woman its the same across the globe!

This is one the most popularly rated book on goodreads! However, I feel like I failed to belong to the clan which absolutely loved the book. The book definitely touches lives of people with heart wrenching stories, specifically about a generous man named Theo who arrives in Golden out of nowhere. He purchases portraits and returns them to their rightful owners. He suffers an unfortunate death, though he was a private person , an entire community gathers to grieve his death..It is well written but I struggled to find a story or a plot here. Also, the book was very slow-paced.

A story of struggle and life of a boy Amir to a rich man. Having lost his mother , he is lonely trying to live up to his dad’s expectations.. playing with the servant’s son Hassan. Amir envies Hassan because of the attention Hassan receives , though it is meager. Hassan is a gifted Kite runner Amir betrays Hassan and witness him being wronged but does nothing. Later in life, Amir realises Hassan is his half brother and feels repentant for his and his father’s doings. The story revolves around Afghanistan and all the disturbances there. Amir migrate to the US as a child. Later, as an adult he returns to adopt Hassan’s orphaned son Sohrab. Sohrab is wronged by the same person as his father was. But, this time Amir saves the Sohrab. This is his way of repentance .
I did the audiobook and though it is read by the author I wished it was better read.

When I first picked up the book, I thought it was going to bore me but would be like the white noise to get my chores done.. would is interested in listening to some letters.. but I am what a book…! I cried when the Sybil confesses her child loss!
To me it seemed like she is a very practical lady who had been successful in life , with letters being her only opening to emotions.Once,it hits her that her life is coming to an end in a weird way.. alive yet not alive as eyes is our lens to the world.. she pours her heart out , makes confessions,apologises while time still allows her..It is said spiritually once your tasks are done on this earth your time on earth is over.. maybe hers was over too.. after she is done divulging everthing from her heavy heart it seems like she is free! As the book says she “died instantaneously” ..
Well I wish for a similar death to say the least.. It breaks my heart to relate that someone dear is dealing with eyesight issues about the same age and yet I do not have the heart to ask him if he undergoing similar fears .. but I guess thats the point of all the correspondence.. communication .. letters when words are too heavy to come out of the mouth.. !

A wonderful book , my first with a setting in Kabul and Afghanistan.. in the face of adversities,the sufferings of common people women remain same across the globe irrespective of the geographical locations. A heart wrenching story of women of different generations where one is send off to be married and the other with aspirations land up in the same household suffer the same struggles just on the opposite ends of the table are finally united to fight against the adversities . Life is truly a journey where you just meet people and then move on.. the opening music to the audio book is great

Kasundi is an underrated condiment.. here we get the mustard and honey mustard but this kasundi is on another level.. of satisfaction and completes fish fry or cutlet..

Kasundi is fremented paste of mustard seeds, white vinegar, tumeric, salt and sugar.. and i did add a dash of mustard oil too.. the pungent flavor is very alike if not stronger than horseradish, the sweetness and tartness add to the ecstasy!

A story revolving around being alone even when in a family.. relationships , jealousy and treachery!

One must try to read the book in audiobook format! The sounds effects makes all the story come alive! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
