FALL IS COMING, TIME FOR A PLANT REFRESH! 🍂
As the seasons change, your plants’ needs change too. Fall is the perfect time to check in on your collection, refresh your soil, and make sure everything is ready for the months ahead.
Here are a few tips before you start repotting:
1. Check the roots.
If roots are circling the bottom of the pot, growing through drainage holes, or the soil is drying out unusually fast, it may be time for a larger pot.
2. Don’t automatically size up.
A new pot only needs to be slightly larger than the current one. Too much extra soil can hold excess moisture and lead to root problems.
3. Refresh the soil.
Old, compacted soil can make it harder for roots to breathe and drain properly. A fresh, well-draining mix can give your plant a much-needed reset.
4. Inspect before you repot.
Check underneath leaves, around stems, and throughout the soil for pests before bringing your plant into its fall setup.
5. Give your plant time to adjust.
After repotting, avoid immediately making a bunch of other changes. Let your plant settle into its new home.
6. Remember: fall means less light.
As daylight decreases, your plants may use water more slowly. Adjust your watering routine rather than sticking to a summer schedule.
Not sure what your plant needs?
Bring it in, ask questions, and let’s get your collection ready for fall.
The season is changing. Your plant care should, too.
